Mamio 3 - Farmsum 2 6-3 (2-0)

Finally we secured another victory, only our second this year. It was also only the third game we had more than eleven players, and that certainly paid off.

We started like this:

Goalie: Yasen
Defense: Kostas, Elmer, Peter, Bas.
Midfield: Vile, Johan, Philip, Thomas.
Forward: Andrey, Giuseppe.

Thomas made his debut. Vile was back after being absent for a while and for Andrey it will be his last game in a long time.

In the first half we played way better than Farmsum. They had some little chances, but our defense was usually very tight. Especially Kostas did a terrific job, even throwing in some offensive moments.

Philip was our most dangerous player, trying some shots on goal before he hit the opening goal. Just a couple of minutes later, we scored again. Or to be honest: a Farmsum defender deflected a cross pass into his own goal. We had some more opportunities but at the break it was still 2-0.

Unfortunately, after only about 30 minutes, Vile had to go out already. He already knew before the game he was sick, and he couldn't manage. Dian was the second player today to make his debut, he moved to a forward position while Andrey took over Vile's right wing midfield position..

The second half started off like the first one ended: with a stronger Mamio. But like always, we have trouble finishing a game properly in the last third of the game. Today, it was a little different. We did concede three goals, of which at least one was unnecessary. But the difference was, we kept scoring ourselves. Giuseppe scored once, but Philip was absolutely amazing. Two strikes from about 20 metres distance went into the top corner of the goal, leaving the Farmsum goalkeeper struggling. We finally won, 6-3 is a very good result and we finally moved away from the bottom spot in the league!

Go Mamio!

Mamio 3 - Usquert 1 1-3 (1-0)

If matches would only last sixty minutes, we would be a lot higher up in this league. Today, we gave it away again during the last thirty minutes.

Lineup:
Goalie: Yasen
Defense: Kostas, Elmer, Johan, Mauricio.
Midfield: Ivan, Stefano, Andrey, Giuseppe.
Forward: Juan, Philip.

In the first half we were constantly in their penalty area, but forgot to score. The only goal we created was an own goal.

In the first part of the second half the game should have been decided in our favor. We were attacking most of the time, but we still have some trouble scoring.

The final part was Usquert's, they finished the game more professionally than we did. We forgot to do our duties and probably got tired as well. Two players got a bit injured and we didn't have replacements for them. Usquert was able to score three times.

Blauw Geel 3 - Mamio 3 5-0 (1-0) Match report

Sunday mornin' started in the wrong way. 14 Players on the list but only 9 people were on field when the match began (luckily Bas joined us 4 minutes later).

This was the line-up with brave Peter as goalkeeper.

Defense:

Kostas, Bas, Elmer, Vile

Midfield:

Giuseppe, Giulio, Stefano, Dany

Forward:

Lonely Philip

Therefore as usual Mamio was playing again with a lack of players.

In the first part of the first 45 minutes, Blauw Geel managed to control spaces an ball and we managed to protect our goal, then this balance changed. From a right-side action Blauw Geel managed to came too close to our score an put the ball in the net. 1-0.

After that we became more aggressive and energized and, thanks to a drastic drop of the opponent's performances, we managed to come close to score the draw.

In the break we realized that Blauw Geel's players were clearly tired and we had the feeling we can win the match.

So we try to put Giulio as forward and Philip as midfield in the hope that the good german guy could improve the game in the our line-up's center.

But things became worst. Blauw Geel despite thier unfit conditions, managed to control without problems the ball with simple and easy passes waiting for our mistakes and trying to save energy. This tactic worked fine. Hurried to score for draw we made thousend mistakes and with the team's balance moved to the forward, we didn't manage to well defend our score.

4 more goal came fast and we lost the hope soon.

Although we were clearly fitter than our opponents (almost all the team smoked before and in the break) we didn't manage to win an affordable match.

Same problems from time immemorial:

1) Players: it's not possible that we have to always play with less player (I don't remember I ever played against a team with less players) we expect 14 players but only 9 showed up. Yes, is sunday, it's morning and it's cold, so if you plan to sleep sunday, maybe soccer is not your sport.

2.

Space: we don't use the space.

3.

We prefer to dribble opponents instead of an easy play (and of
course we lost the ball)

Today's hero: Kostas. Slept 3 hours after partying and drinking and played well.

Mamio 3 - Forward 6 - Cancelled

Forward 6 failed to show up, or notify us about their absence. So we had no game. A shame, since we had even more players available than during our previous game. Well, anyway, Forward will get a fine, 3 points less and another beating the next time we meet them.

Kloosterburen - Mamio 0-6 Full report

It was a sunny day and we expected an exchange of blows.

Every one of us was excited and had this special feeling as something special might happen today.

As it had been turned out after 90 minutes +injury time it was a special day for our team. We won 6:0 against a team which thought that we are not more than victims.

During the warm up we got our instruction from the skipper, we call him Jaap Stam after the match as all of our defenders did a great job and all of them were comparable with a wall, there was no change to beat them that day.

Our lineup was as following

First half:
Jin
Kostas /Johan /Bas /Elmer
Orcun /Stefano /Vile /Giuseppe
Philip/ Giulio

After a few minutes we faced the first chance for our team, but unfortunately the two forward strikers weren’t able to finish their run.

It seemed to be, as our rivals were on their last legs, we ran the whole time on their goals and finally we got rewarded with the first goal via Philip Hitzfeld after 20 minutes.

From that moment we faced a victory and every one in our team was delighted to see that the opprobrium two weeks ago was forgotten. The winger Orcun and Giuseppe had earned more than a normal salary for their effort , they were running up and down the line, while Philip Hitzfeld scored again, he relieved the ball from his rival and had he typical tunnel view, last but not least he scored again and we were satisfied for the work, we did during the week. A few minutes before half time Guilio caught the ball from the left side and dribbled two of his competitors out and focused the right corner and shoot the ball went against the interior post. Another goal for our team and what a brilliant one!

45 minutes were over and we had time to change our strategy to bring our victory home.

Time for a break we were exhausted.

Second half lineup:
Jin
Kostas/ Johan/ Bas /Elmer
Orcun/ Stefano/ Philip/ Danny
Giulio/ Giuseppe

Second half started as the first half end, we had so many opportunities to score, but it took us 15 minutes before Orcun found the target and scored. All of us did a great job that day even though our goalkeeper who did two brilliant safes. It appeared that we all had one of these days, that everything worked out. After this goal our rivals give up and we scored two more goals via Philip Hitzfeld for him it was a lucky day….

I suggest the most aggressive player was Kostas as he fought for each ball.

Man of the match: Guilio and Guiseppe as both cross in lovely balls which were quiet easy to finish for the rusher.

Luckiest Person: Philip Hitzfeld he was at the right time,at the right place ;-)

For this week the time follow this saying à No pain, no gain

Finally a victory for our team, and with a clean sheet. Mamio beated Kloosterburen by 6-0. At the break we were already leading 3-0, 2 goals by Philip and one by Giulio. Second half Philip scored twice again, and Orcun brought the icing on the cake: 6-0.

Blauw Geel 3 - Mamio 3 18-0 (10-0)

In a devastating third match of the season, the nine brave players of Mamio endured an 18 goal long session of humiliation.

Somehow, of the 13 people that were supposed to come, only nine showed up. So the lineup was creative:

Goal: Mauricio
Defense: Ahmad, Elmer, Johan, Peter
Midfield: Dumas, Giulio, Tano
Lonely forward: Juan

The first couple of minutes we already realized that this was a mission impossible. The opponents knew well how to handle the situation, and were always able to find the (at least) two free fellows. Our defense took a hammering, and within fifteen minutes the game was all but over. At the break it was 10-0.

Second half we decided to forget about the first one and start with a 'clean sheet'. This psychological tactic seemed to work out: we created a couple of nice strikes, two shots on the bar and one just past the goalkeeper - and the goal. But after that the referee decided 10-0 was not enough. Two clearly offside strikes were not cancelled, 12-0 was the score. Our last hope of some rehabilitation was over. All heads went down in disbelief, about our own performance, but also about the referee's strange commitment to punish us even more.

Some more goals went in, but nobody really cared anymore. A black day for Mamio, hardly any fun for Blauw Geel, that is leading of the league now.

We have one week off, so let's hope things will improve next week.

Mamio - VVG 2-6 (1-2)

We lost our second match as well. Alberto and Juan (penalty) scored the goals.

Monday, September 7, 2009

Bedum - Mamio 6-0 (2-0)

Our first match wasn't exactly a great success, if you look at the numbers.

But to quote a famous Dutch coach, that's just 'scoreboardjournalism'. We had eleven players, almost everybody came right on time (Juan was one minute late).

Lineup:
Mauricio
Tano - Elmer - Bas - Bayu
Kostas - Giulio - Stefano - Dumas
Alberto - Juan
